I didn't care much for that because I like to have peace and quiet. It's a beautiful independent living place, but it's in a really busy area. It's just my doctor just gave me a note that states I should get my own parking spot here. The staff said I could get one if I had a handicap sign, but I don't have a handicap sign for my vehicle because I still can walk and everything. I have my own spot here because I have trouble with my legs. We didn't care much for the parking because it's like where we live right now. We were told about the storage and the extra $100 for a car.
My husband plays guitar professionally, so we would need a two-bedroom since he has equipment. It's a very nice place, but the studio was just too small for my husband and me. I like the fact that she let us see a studio apartment and trusted us with the key so we could go see it instead of her coming with us. The person we talked to there was very nice and very professional. We did put our name on the list for next year. They said they wouldn't have any available since the list is full for October. If you're really on a fixed income, I worry about that for people, but we're helping my mom. The price is a little high, but for the location, it's not bad, and it's new. There have been many new activities, and I think they are going to work on that like potlucks, and game nights, and stuff like that.
They haven't really coordinated stuff yet because the staff has really been working on filling the place. They have what looks like a dining area, but you can meet somebody for lunch there, and bring your lunch down with the little kitchenette and coffee. They have a beautiful courtyard with public seating and barbecues. They have a pool and a spa hot tub, which is really nice. They have a nice little kitchenette, so it would be nice if they could do that. They have food bank coordination, and things like that, which is nice, but total independent living situation. They don't have any food I wish they had something else. My mom is in a studio, and it seems relatively spacious. The staff seemed very helpful in getting you not only in the process of getting in, but also after, which is really nice. I like that it's clean, it's obviously newer.
